Special Education Advocacy

You Don't Have to Read the Room, the Acronyms, and the IEP by Yourself

The Special Education Advocacy Package pairs you with a certified dyslexia and special education specialist who reviews your child's evaluations, preps you before the meeting, and sits beside you when it counts.

If any of this sounds familiar...

  • Have you ever left an IEP meeting agreeing to something you're still not sure was right for your child?
  • Have you sat across from a room full of school staff, outnumbered, and gone quiet instead of pushing back?
  • Does it feel like you and the school are reading two different documents about the same kid?

Inside the Advocacy Package

  • A full review of your child's evaluations, present levels, and IEP or 504 draft — done before we ever sit down together.
  • A 1:1 strategy session where we translate the data into what to actually ask for, and how to say it.
  • A second, informed voice in the room with you — live, advocating for the supports your child needs.
  • Follow-up after the meeting with a clear, written list of next steps.
  • Someone who has sat on every side of that table: teacher, dyslexia specialist, and parent.

What You Walk Away With

  • A clear understanding of what your child's evaluations actually say
  • A written plan of what to ask for and why.
  • Support in the room, not just support on paper
  • A follow-up plan for what happens next

Already Taken How to Speak IEP?

The workshop teaches you to read the document. This package puts someone next to you for the meeting itself — reviewing your child's file, prepping your strategy, and advocating with you in real time.

Someone Who's Been on Every Side of the Table

Heather ODonnell

As a certified special education teacher, certified dyslexia practitioner, and the owner of a tutoring practice that supports kids with learning disabilities, I've sat on every side of the special education meeting table. I'm a Wilson Certified Dyslexia Practitioner, certified at the Associate Level with the Orton-Gillingham Academy, and one year from completing my Clinical Certification.

Most of the frustration I see in these meetings comes down to one thing: miscommunication. My job is to close that gap — for your child.

— Heather O'Donnell

Questions? We've Got Answers

My child has dyslexia (or ADHD, autism, dysgraphia). Is this for us?

Yes. This package is for any family navigating an IEP or 504 meeting for a child with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, DLD, or autism.

I've already been to a few IEP meetings. Is this still useful?

Yes. Most families who come to us have been to plenty of meetings — they just want someone in the room who knows what to push for.

Will you attend the meeting in person?

Virtual attendance is included. In-person attendance can be arranged, and additional travel-time fees apply.

Are you a lawyer or legal advocate?

No. This is educational advocacy support, not legal representation. For legal advice regarding special education law, please consult a licensed attorney.

What if I need more or less than 4 hours?

This package is customizable. Email [email protected] and we'll build a package around your family's situation.

I already took How to Speak IEP — do I need this too?

No, not necessarily. The workshop stands on its own. This package is for families who want hands-on, 1:1 support for a specific meeting.

What happens after the meeting?

We follow up with you directly with a clear, written list of next steps so your child stays on track.

How do I get started?

Book the package below, send us your child's evaluations and meeting date, and we'll take it from there.
